Explore the backcountry around Soda Mountain with former Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument resident and current KS Wild employee Isaak Oliansky.
This ride will take place entirely on public lands (none of which are wilderness designated). Expect about 3 or 4 hours of ride time with frequent breaks to catch our breath. Approximately 2200' of ascent and descent over about 19 miles. The terrain is mostly double track gravel roads, with two notable bushwhacking sections. Get to the top and enjoy stunning views, and a wonderful descent, with a few miles on low-traffic Highway 66.
There are easier rides in the monument, but none better! Isaak was the first to piece together this route a few years ago and he considers it as good as it gets.
