KS Wild is hiring for a Conservation Attorney!
The Klamath-Siskiyou bioregion of southwest Oregon and northwest California is a biodiversity hotspot, and we are looking for an early-career advocate to help us defend old-growth forests and protect wildlife & clean water. The Conservation Attorney serves as one of KS Wild’s main program staff to help with ground truthing and monitoring of proposed federal land management actions across five National Forests and two Bureau of Land Management Districts in southwest Oregon and northwest California.
As a small conservation advocacy organization located outside the major West Coast cities of Portland, Seattle and San Francisco, we are particularly interested in recruiting for an entry-level conservation advocate, where we can offer early-career mentorship and on-the-job training. We see opportunities for growth within the organization for this position.
To apply: Email a resume and cover letter to hiring@kswild.org, with the subject line “Conservation Attorney.” No telephone calls, please.
Application Deadline: Position open until filled. We will start reviewing initial applications on October 24th, 2024. We anticipate closing the announcement by November 4th.
Start Date: Preferably late Fall 2024.

Interact, and sometimes collaborate, with agency decision-makers.

Who we are
The Klamath-Siskiyou Wildlands Center has a 24-year history of environmental advocacy. We are an organization of thirteen staff members and a volunteer board, who are dedicated to protecting the biodiversity of the Klamath-Siskiyou region in southern Oregon and northern California. Most of our work is directed at protecting the eight million acres of public lands in the region and proactively working for permanent protections of special places. Rogue Riverkeeper is a project of KS Wild that shares much of our work. Our efforts are strongly informed by science and draw heavily on environmental law and community organizing. Our work atmosphere is relaxed and fairly flexible, but can be fast paced and exciting.
