Forest Defender Training Series: Hike & Write

Enjoy a shaded, moderate 2.5 mile hike in the Ashland Watershed along the Snark trail in Ashland. After the hike we will head to Skout Taphouse to learn how to write effective letters to the editor.

During the hike we will learn about the Northwest Forest plan, which guides how parts of the Ashland Watershed is managed.

The Forest Service is currently in the process of updating the Northwest Forest Plan for the first time in 30 years and we need to advocate for strong protections for our old-growth forests. We will walk you through the process of formatting and submitting your letter and provide templates. Writing letters to the editor is an important and impactful way to advocate for the future of our forests.

Submitted pieces provide an additional line of communication with decision makers and help to raise awareness of the issues and encourage folks to take action. With your help, we can keep the drumbeat up on the importance of updating the Northwest Forest Plan!

it’s important that they hear from YOU. To learn more about the NWFP read KS Wild’s blog
