Salmon Viewing Walk on the Upper Rogue

The trail at McGregor Park along the Upper Rogue River is a quiet, leafy walk. We will stop at locations along the river to look for spawning Chinook salmon who start arriving here in early September. We will also drive a short distance to where Crowfoot Road crosses Big Butte Creek where there is typically many spawning fish visible from the bridge. We will talk about the life history of salmon, what makes the Rogue River an important habitat to sustain this keystone species, and the work Rogue Riverkeeper does to protect the Rogue.

Easy on smooth mostly flat trail for 1/2 mile. This trail is not wheelchair accessible.
