First Friday Artwalk
On the first Friday of every month from 5 from 5pm - 7pm
562 A Street between 4th & 5th
Art is one of the greatest forms of healing, to recall the innocence and sovereignty from which all life begins. Our aim is to share enriched expressions from the experience of 33 years together through art creations. The holiness here on earth has something to do with a deep feeling of immense inclusion and connectivity through continued exploration, action, and development with the enchantment of love, art, and our planet.
John will be donating 15% of sales to KS Wild.
Wine and refreshments are provided.
Artist Statement
MORI D. is a semi-retired tattoo artist of 26 years with wisdom around rites of passage and permanent expression leads me into varied art forms, new and old. My art has always been a vision created from a particular deep dreamlike state. In the process, ideas flow, and when they don't, a pause is necessary to allow that vision to proceed, continue, and complete. For myself and the viewer, I am moved to capture and evoke emotional interaction, and engagement. Take the journey with me into new realms of beauty where artistic mistakes are graced by exciting discoveries and magic! Empowerment engages the continual unraveling of the many aspects of who we are and what we will become. Explorations of our differences and outweighing similarities restores catalytic healing through communication and connection by sharing story and life identification. Welcome to Golden Goddess Prints and Originals!
JOHN GARLOFF: Alchemically, I am a changer, a crafter, and a shifter. My passion lies in molecularly manipulating metals to create shapes into beauty out of nothing. I find that mistakes can be a magical component to the outcome. This process is voluntary and sometimes involuntary but always unfolds a new me, moving away from old conformities and conditions. For so long these untruths were what I truly believed for myself. By opening and redefining those parameters, I share my art and invite the world to explore these breakthroughs that lead me to creative freedoms. My purpose is to continue to be and discover the best version of myself
This First Friday art show will be accompanied by tail-waggin’ Appalachian music by Uncle Jojo and friends! Join us for this night of art, music, community, and joy as we welcome in another year of good times!
