Join KS Wild’s Forest & Climate Coordinator Alexi Lovechio on this hike near Briggs Creek, a tributary of the Wild and Scenic Illinois River. The trail travels boasts immense beauty as it traverses through towering old-growth stands of Sugar pine, Douglas fir, and cedars. This 5 mile hike is moderately difficult, crosses several smaller creeks, and is relatively flat. The hike ends at the old Elkhorn mining camp where we will find old remnants of hydraulic mining in the area.
