Haleigh Martin (she/her), Communications Manager
Haleigh grew up in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, wedged between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Appalachian Mountains, where she spent much of her time exploring and falling in love with long trails that lead to wild places.
Once graduated with a B.S. in Natural Resources Conservation and Forestry from Virginia Tech, Haleigh moved west to Ashland to serve two seasons on a crew maintaining and reopening some of the most forlorn wilderness trails across the Klamath-Siskiyou region. She then spent time working as an outdoor educator and frontcountry trail worker for the Medford Bureau of Land Management and US Forest Service.
Through her experience from the seldom-travelled backwoods of the KS region to the most popular frontcountry trails close to town, Haleigh has developed a deep passion for the Klamath-Siskiyou and has committed to protecting and serving it to the best of her abilities. As the Communications Manager, Haleigh looks forward to conveying her love of this area and helping to highlight KS Wild’s incredible work.
In her free time, you will find her trekking through the woods with her dog Charlie, foraging for mushrooms or identifying new plants. Learn more about one of her favorites, the Kalmiopsis leachiana.
