Fire & Climate Summit

What you need to know:

The goal of the summit is to begin a dialog about the intersection of climate change, wildfires, forests, and human communities. The summit promotes adaptation and mitigation of negative effects on our human communities and our elder relatives. The summit will empower and educate participants to use their voices to promote climate smart forest and conservation practices.

Fire experts, ecological restoration professionals, indigenous eco-cultural specialists and practitioners, and local organizations collaborate in creating the Fire & Climate Summit. Experts in a variety of fields will share their perspectives about living in a fire adapted ecosystem that is changing with the climate.

The Fire & Climate Summit was developed in collaboration with the following organizations:

Lomakatsi Restoration Project, Southern Oregon Climate Action Now, Jackson County Fuel Committee, Northwest Forest Worker Center, Red Earth Descendants, Southern Oregon Land Conservancy, Vesper Meadow, Fairbanks Forest Management, and KS Wild.
