Middle Fork Fire

Klamath County, Southern Oregon - Crater Lake National Park

In southern Oregon, the Middle Fork Fire is burning through a previous burn scar in the northwest corner of Crater Lake National Park. As of July 30th, the Middle Fork Fire had burned over 700 acres and was 1% contained. The park remains open, but some trails are closed.

Diamond Complex

Douglas County, Southern Oregon - Umpqua National Forest

The Diamond Complex is a combination of numerous lightning-caused fires that started on July 19th and are burning northwest of Crater Lake. The complex is estimated to be at 5,188 acres with 9% containment.

The Umpqua National Forest has issued a few closures, and you can see evacuation orders here.


Shelly Fire

Siskiyou County, Northern California - Klamath National Forest

In the Klamath National Forest of northern California, the Shelly Fire has reached 92% containment at 15,500 acres. There are still numerous closures in the KNF which you can view here. Fire danger remains high as temperatures are creeping back up into the high 90s and 100s.


Hill Fire

Humboldt County, Northern California - Six Rivers National Forest

The Hill Fire in the Six Rivers National Forest of northern California has also reached majority containment at just over 7,000 acres.

At the time of publishing this page, Trinity County evacuation orders have been lifted and many Humboldt County evacuation orders were downgraded. See more here.


Park Fire

Butte County, Northern California - Lassen National Forest

The largest nearby fire that is burning just outside of the Klamath-Siskiyou region in the Lassen National Forest and the City of Chico, CA is the Park Fire. This fire started on July 24th and grew rapidly to over 380,000 acres with only 14% containment. Closures and evacuations have been issued.

Here in the KS, we can expect to continue to see smoke moving north from this fire.
