Our worst fears have been confirmed. Our beloved Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument is one of a handful of national monuments now being targeted by the Secretary of the Interior for destruction. This could be the biggest blow to our ecoregion in decades.

The entire process has been a sham from the start. We were told this whole process was about public input. There had already been extensive public input when the Monument was created 17 years ago and when it was expanded earlier this year. But this time, hundreds of thousands of people submitted comments, with nine out of ten in favor of continued protection.

All of us have been ignored. Instead the Secretary is recommending that President Trump radically reduce the Monument boundaries. What's worse, Trump is keeping the report secret from the public, forcing us to rely on leaked details.

It's an outrage and we can't let this stand. That report must be made public now and plans to gut the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument must be overturned. If Trump goes ahead with this abominable plan, we will certainly sue him.
