Marble Mountain Wilderness on the Klamath
National Forest.

The Klamath National Forest covers an area of 1,700,000 acres located in Siskiyou County, California and Jackson County, Oregon. The forest comprises some five wilderness areas: Marble Mountain, Russian Wilderness Area, Trinity Alps, Red Buttes Wilderness Area and Siskiyou Wilderness Area.

The KNF is divided into four (4) ranger districts:

Happy Camp/Oak Knoll Ranger District- The Happy Camp Ranger District represents the north-central portion of the KNF and includes portions of the Siskiyou and Marble Mountain Wildernesses.

Salmon/Scott River Ranger District- Representing the southwest-central portion of the KNF, the scenic Salmon/Scott River Ranger District is home to dozens of high mountain lakes and scenic trails of all lengths, and includes portions of three different wilderness areas (Marble Mountain, Russian and Trinity Alps Wilderness).

Ukonom Ranger District- Located on the west-central edge of the KNF, the Ukonom Ranger District offers ample whitewater access to the Salmon River as well as to the Marble Mountain backcountry.

Goosenest Ranger District
- Directly north of the Mt Shasta Wilderness, the Goosenest is the only KNF District on the eastside of I-5.
