- An Ashland High School class hikes into the Little Greyback Roadless Area and discusses proposed Wilderness designation along the Siskiyou Crest
KS Wild has worked with several students at Southern Oregon University
and Ashland High School to develop hands-on learning opportunities that
simultaneously give credit to their graduation requirements.
One student completed a botanical study of rare flora around Swan Mountain
on the Siskiyou Crest. Another student completed a research project that
entailed quantifying the amount of northern spotted owl habitat that has
been removed or degraded on public lands in the region over the past few
years.
We are pleased to work with individuals to create mutually beneficial
relationships that help further the protection of our bioregion, strengthen
the KS Wild organization, and empower community members to learn more about
their surroundings.
