KS Wild is working with a coalition of businesses, rafters, anglers and conservationists to strengthen protections for southwest Oregon's Rogue River. Flowing through one of the most spectacular and biologically unique wildlands in the United States, the Rogue is a national treasure.  Right now, only part of the lower Rogue's watershed is protected, leaving a large adjacent roadless area open to commercial logging, mining, and road-building.  With each timber sale and new road built, the roadless area shrinks in size, the valuable wildlife habitat is degraded, and recreational opportunities are lost. Now is the time to protect these roadless areas and free-flowing streams for this and future generations by expanding the incredible Wild Rogue Wilderness Area and protection under the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act.

On June 18, 2008, Senator Wyden and Representatives Peter DeFazio and Earl Blumenauer introduced legislation to protect 143 miles of Rogue tributaries! Click here to visit our Save the Wild Rogue campaign website and help make this proposal become a law.
