Join us for spectacular views of Mt. Ashland, Mt. Shasta, Mt. McLoughlin, Pilot Rock and the soft evening colors over the city of Ashland on this Grizzly Peak hike. Some wildflowers may still be blooming, including the graceful three-petal trillium; we'll watch for deer, woodpeckers and Golden Eagles. We'll hike along the rim of the plateau to see the East Antelope Fire of 2003 burn area, where we'll talk about fire ecology and witness nature's amazing powers of restoration. Finally, learn the real story the BLM's proposed Rio Climax timber sale and how it will impact this
unique Southern Oregon gem.

A 5.5 mile-loop with modest elevation gain makes this a moderate hike. Meet at Evo’s Coffee in Ashland to carpool for a 30-minute drive to the trailhead
