Klamath Siskiyou Wildlands ecologist Rich Nawa will explain the salmon life cycle while you see the salmon spawning only a short walk from the parking lot at Fish Hatchery Park on Saturday October 20th at 1pm. This area is accessible to all abilities. We will then hike about one mile of scenic trail to see salmon spawning in a secluded area that requires a short off-trail hike down a hill. An optional trip will view spawning salmon at very close viewing distances near the Applegate Store.
Directions to Fish Hatchery Park North Entrance: From Grants Pass drive 0.8 miles south on Hwy 238 (Murphy-Williams Hwy) to light at New Hope Road. Turn RIGHT (west) on New Hope and drive about 2 miles to Fish Hatchery Road.
